Detailed Document Upload Guide
In the Trustwise Quickstart portal, you can upload documents to use in scans either from the Launchpad (while creating a new blueprint) or directly from the Optimization Hub (as part of configuring a scan). This guide will help you understand how to upload and manage your documents effectively, ensuring smooth integration with the Trustwise portal.
Step 1: Access the Document Upload Section
Where to Upload
Documents can be uploaded in two key places within the platform:
Launchpad: While creating a blueprint, use the "Data" section to upload documents.
Step 2: Uploading Your Documents
How to Upload
To upload a document:
-
Navigate to the "Data" field and click "Add Document".
-
You will be prompted to either:
- Drag and Drop the files, or
- Click "Browse Files" to open a file browser window and select files manually.
- If uploading a single document, you will need to provide a name for it before starting the upload process. If you upload multiple documents at once, each document will retain its original file name.
Note: We currently recommend uploading one document at a time to ensure a smoother process, as uploading multiple documents simultaneously can take longer to process.
- After selecting the document(s), click "Upload" to start the process. The uploaded documents will be stored in the Trustwise database, making them easily accessible for future scans.
Warnings and Notifications
Once you upload a document, you may receive warnings if the document has certain limitations. These messages are intended to help you optimize document quality and scan reliability:
- "This PDF document contains insufficient text content, which may result in unreliable responses and an increased risk of LLM hallucinations."
- "This PDF document may contain a large number of images, which cannot be used for processing."
If you see these warnings, you can either:
- Proceed and use the document as-is, understanding the potential limitations.
- Upload a different document before creating the blueprint or initiating the scan.
Step 3: Best Practices for Uploading Documents
To ensure optimal results when using uploaded documents:
- File Formats: Use common formats such as PDF or TXT. These formats are best supported by our embedding process.
- Content Quality: Make sure the documents you upload contain sufficient text for analysis. Documents with primarily images may not be processed effectively.
- Document Size: Larger documents may take longer to embed, so please allow extra time for the upload process if your file size is substantial.
Note: Once uploaded, documents are embedded for future use. This means you will be able to use them for subsequent scans without having to re-upload, saving you time in future workflows.
Step 4: Using Uploaded Documents
Once your document is uploaded and embedded, you can select it from the "Data" dropdown in either the Launchpad or Optimization Hub. The document will now be ready to use in your scans, enabling efficient and streamlined configurations.
